Welcome to RSDN!
| | A community organization promoting Swing dancing in the Rochester area, RSDN is dedicated to fostering an open and vibrant dance community. We offer dances with live music provided by premier bands, classes in swing and other social dances taught by Richard Newman & Esther Brill, workshops with world-renowned teachers, and ongoing record hops. Our events are informal and fun, beginners and all ages are welcome, and you don't need to come with a partner. |

| LATEST! Dancers Demo at Cherry Ridge Assisted Living, Webster |

The volunteers that participated in the July 31 event were: Mary Wray, Alla Levi, Lisa Fox, Cheryl Challenger, Roger Fair, David Kotok, Joel Caplan, Gary Barber. The Music Maker Big Band played music just perfect for Swing dancing, waltz, and foxtrot. Kudos: "We had much more participation from the residents than usual, which made it fun for everyone. When I looked out at the crowd while dancing, everyone had smiles on their faces, so we know everyone was enjoying themselves listening to the band and watching us dance." Thanks to Gary Barber and Mary Wray for organizing, photos on Facebook.

| LATEST! Kudos for Dancer Volunteers! |

“This event means so much to our residents, and you and the dancers you organize to attend not only make it happen but make it so very special. Certainly we all enjoy watching you dance – for many of our residents just hearing the music and seeing the dancers makes this a stand-out event. Your group, however, goes a step further and seeks out our residents as dance partners. This provides a chance for them to be a part of the community and to really participate rather than just be a spectator. I can’t even put into words how meaningful this is to our residents and to all of us here at M.M. Ewing. As you are in touch with the dancers, I hope you will share with them how grateful we are for their participation and the caring way they interact with our residents.” Special Events Coordinator, Senior Living Services, Thompson Health, Canandaigua
